DIETARY REQUIREMENTS OF VEGETABLE OIL BLENDS
Fats and their liquid counterparts are essential for normal growth and development because of the many important physiological functions they perform. There are many types of fats & oils used in the blending process and Goldstar only uses oils of vegetable origin. They all contain different proportions of saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids.

MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE FATS/OILS IN THE BODY
- Provide a concentrated source of energy.
- Fats are required as a carrier for the absorption of fat soluble vitamins A, D, E & K. Some of these vitamins occur as natural components in some fats and oils.
- Fats form an important part of the structure of cell membranes.
- Fats are a source of essential fatty acids required for the formation of certain important substances for proper body functions.
- Fats contribute to the palatability of feeds.
Goldstar Pig Blend is a complimentary feed formulated for use in pig diets. Its typical fatty acid composition balances the requirements of pigs for unsaturated fatty acids (Oleic & Linoleic) essential in high performance diets. This blend is a combination of vegetable oils and is blended at our FEMAS approved dedicated vegetable oil blending facility. It does not contain any raw material oils/fats of animal origin or cooking oil from any source. Care has been taken in the formulation of this particular blend to ensure ease of use within the mill, particularly where the day tanks are in use with fine jets for spraying on fat.
Goldstar Poultry Blend is a complimentary feed formulated for use in poultry diets. Its typical fatty acid composition high in linoleic acid and low stearic acid levels balances the requirements of poultry for unsaturated fatty acids essential in high performance diets. This blend is a combination of vegetable oils and is blended at Goldstar Oils FEMAS approved dedicated vegetable oil blending facility. It does not contain any raw material oils/fats of animal origin or cooking oil from any source. The blend is transported in dedicated, insulated stainless steel road tankers and should be stored at 60°C in insulated bulk tanks, preferably of stainless steel fabrication.
Goldstar Dairy Blend is a complimentary feed specifically formulated for use in dairy diets. Its typical fatty acid composition balances the requirements of ruminants for saturated fatty acids (Palmitic) important in high performing diets. This blend is designed to ensure sufficient coating of fat remains on the exterior of the pellets, while maintaining high energy levels in the diet, producing a free flowing fat coated feed. This product is blended at Goldstar Oils FEMAS approved dedicated vegetable oil blending oil facility and does not contain any raw materials/fats or animal origin or used cooking oil from any source/region.
Goldstar Ruminant Blend is a complimentary feed specifically formulated for use in dairy and beef diets. Its typical fatty acid composition balances the requirements of ruminants for saturated fatty acids (Palmitic) important in high performing diets. This product is blended at Goldstar Oils FEMAS approved dedicated vegetable oil blending oil facility and does not contain any raw materials/fats or animal origin or used cooking oil from any source/region. This is a palm based blend containing a high concentration of saturated palmitic acid while at the same time keeping the fat fluid as possible for ease of operation in the mill. In addition the profile of the fat ensures good fats coating at higher temperatures, yielding a quality fat coated feed with longer shelf life during the summer months.
