DIETARY REQUIREMENTS OF VEGETABLE OIL BLENDS

Fats and their liquid counterparts are essential for normal growth and development because of the many important physiological functions they perform. There are many types of fats & oils used in the blending process and Goldstar only uses oils of vegetable origin. They all contain different proportions of saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids.

MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE FATS/OILS IN THE BODY

  1. Provide a concentrated source of energy.
  2. Fats are required as a carrier for the absorption of fat soluble vitamins A, D, E & K. Some of these vitamins occur as natural components in some fats and oils.
  3. Fats form an important part of the structure of cell membranes.
  4. Fats are a source of essential fatty acids required for the formation of certain important substances for proper body functions.
  5. Fats contribute to the palatability of feeds.
